IIDE 2019, India’s biggest dairy equipment exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. G. S. Vice Chancellor, Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Science University, Mr. Arun Patil, Chairman, Indian Dairy Association (West Zone); Mr. Denis Steker, Vice President, International, Koelnmesse GmbH, Mr. Ashwani Pande, Managing Director, Koelnmesse YA TradefairPvt. Ltd. and other dignitaries.
The inaugural session of the seminar was presided over by Dr.GS Rajorhia, President, Indian Dairy Association and Dr.Ashish Paturkar, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, MAFSU, Nagpur was the guest of honour.Shri. Arun Patil, Chairman,Dr. Rajendra Kokane, Vice Chairman, Shri K Shyju, Vice Chairman, and Shri. Rajesh Lele, Secretary, Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) graced the occasion.
At the inaugural session, the dignitaries recounted the technological developments in the dairy industry during the last five decades that enabled India to reach the top position globally, in milk production. India has transformed from an importer of milk products to an exporting nation.The achievements in AI, Cloning, Embryo Transfer and latest Sex Sorted Semen with proper breeding policies boosted the milk production. New processing, packaging technologies for milk & milk products added value to milk products which enabled the processors to pay higher prices to rural milk producers. This acted as a Game Changer ! Boosted milk production !!
There were 18 speakers who delivered talks on various topics in 8 technical sessions spread over two days. The seminar was attended by who’s who of Dairy fraternity from India and neighbouring countries. Some of the notable speakers in the seminar included representatives from GEA Process Engineering and GEA Westfalia Separator; Hexagon Nutrition; BAIF; Thermax Ltd; EGLI AG Switzerland; Danisco India; Maruti 3PL; Sidel France; National Dairy Development Board (NDDB); Bliss Life Sciences; Bericap Germany; DuPont India; CTARA, IIT Bombay, Rockwell Automation India and SMC College of Dairy Science and many others.
IIDE 2019 - India International Dairy Expo was spread over 8000 sq. mtrs. and 5227 one time registered trade visitors including conference delegates visited the trade show. There were 182 exhibitors including 27% from abroad who showcased their products and technologies during the three trade fair days. The exhibitors were overwhelmed by the quality and number of visitors who attended the trade fair.
Presence of top management of the private dairies, state and district co-operatives including Chairmen, CEOs, Managing Directors and heads of various divisions made serious and fruitful discussions with the exhibitors.
Participation by leading technology solution providers from India and abroad along with dairy cooperatives and companies like Parag Milk Foods Ltd.; Shree MurlidharGir Cow Farm; Tamil Nadu Co‐operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd.; The Telangana State Dairy Development Co‐Operative Federation Ltd.; Yeole Brothers etc. as exhibitors, complimented by the presence of dairy cooperatives&dairy entrepreneurs.
The delegates of the seminar and visitors to the exhibition were satisfied with the quality of the presentations at the seminar as well as the display of latest equipment at the trade show.

IDA (West Zone) celebrates National Milk Day
Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) organized "Milk for Health" program on Sunday, 24th November 2019 at Juhu Beach, Mumbai, from 0630 to 1000 hrs. The health conscious morning walkers, yoga practitioners and school childrenon the beach were informed about the importance of milk in their diets and the demonstrations on how to check the common milk adulterants were also held for the benefit of the public. There was a huge response and around 450 people attended the program and asked many questions about the milk and milk products. Mostly the querries were regarding how safe is pouched milk, should one consume fresh milk from Tabela, Health effects of A1 milk, should one prefer only A2 milk, where to get A2 milk, which type of milk is good for health, why there is no supply of milk in glass bottles, should one drinkmilk at all after seeing VEGAN clips ?
Dr.Shekhar Badhe and the students of Bombay Veterinary College arranged the milk adulteration checking whereas Shri. Arun Patil, Chairman, Shri. K Shyju, Vice Chairman, Shri. Rajesh Lele, Secretary and Shri. Madhav Patgaonkar, Treasurer took the questions of the public. Malganga Dairy, Nighoj had sponsored 480 bottles of flavoured milk on the occasion.
IDA (West Zone) also celebrated birth anniversary of "Dr.VergheseKurien", Father of White Revolution and Architect of Indian Dairy Development on 26th November 2019 at IDA (WZ) office. Office bearers of IDA (WZ) paid a floral tribute to Dr.Kurien and shared their memories with the visionary leader. AGBM of IDA (WZ) was also held in the afternoon.
