Attended by over 1375delegates from India and abroad, the confluence brought together participants from different streams of dairying, agriculture, food processing and allied industries. IIDE 2017 organized by Koelnmesse YA Tradefair Pvt. Ltd. and IDA (WZ) had 188 exhibitors from 15 nations. The exhibition drew a record number of 6437 business visitors, seeking technological solutions for their processing needs and challenges.
The conference started with the invocation and welcome address by Shri Arun Patil, Chairman, IDA (WZ) and was inaugurated by Shri DilipRath, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Shri Arun Narke, President, IDA gave a Presidential address. Shri. Subhash Chandra Mandge, Chairman, NCDFI, Shri SarangdharNirmal, Chairman and Managing Director, Prabhat Dairy Ltd. and Dr. A. K. Srivastava, Former Director & Vice Chancellor, NDRI addressed the participants. Vote of thanks was given by Shri. Rajesh Lele, Secretary General.
The distinguished dairymen who have offered yeomen service to Indian Dairy Industry were honored with IDA’s Patronship and Fellowship. They included, Patrons - Shri Animesh Banerjee, former President, IDA; Shri R.S. Sodhi, Managing Director, GCMMF; and Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Former Director & Vice Chancellor, NDRI and Member, Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board, New Delhi. The IDA Fellowships were conferred on 11 eminent dairymen in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Indian dairying and IDA. They are: Dr. B.M. Mahajan, former Managing Director, Milkfed Punjab; Dr. Sumit Arora, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NDRI, Karnal; Dr. D.N. Gandhi, Principal Scientist at ICAR-NDRI, Karnal; Dr. B.V. Venkateshaiah, Dean, Dairy Science College Bengaluru; Shri. C.P. Charles, Senior President – Operations in the Dairy Division of ABT Industries Ltd. and Chairman, IDA(SZ); Shri. Harish Kumar Gupta, former Managing Director of Tetra Pak (I) Ltd. and Secretary of IDA Gujarat State Chapter; Dr. A.K. Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NDRI, Karnal; Shri M.V. Patgaonkar,General Manager (Sales), Prabhat Dairy Ltd., and Treasurer, IDA (West Zone); Shri K ShyjuSidharthan, Director, Micron Industries Pvt. IDA recognizes the contribution of rural women milk producers who are engaged in rearing animals and who are creating new role models for others. Women milk producers, who through their exemplary efforts and innovative practices in dairying have brought about a turn-around in their societies were felicitated at DIC. The recipients of Dairy Woman of the Year Awards were Smt. RamilabenGovindbhai Patel, West Zone, Smt. Suman Kumari, East Zone, Smt. MamtaChoudhary, North Zone, Smt. Veda SeetaramHegde, South Zone.
DeLaval, KK Cans, Goma Engineering and Samarpan Fabricatorswere felicitated by IDA (WZ) for their pioneering work in the milk processing equipment. The Chairman and Secretary General of 44th DIC, Karnal, 17 -19 February 2016, Dr. A. K. Srivastava and Dr. A.K. Sharma, were felicitated for the successful organization of the conference. The felicitation of the organizers of last conference has started for the first time by IDA.
On the first day two Farmers’ sessions were held. For the convenience of ruralmilk producer participants Simultaneous Interpretation System ( SIS) was installed. The deliberationsin English were translated in Hindi, simultaneously, and the delegates could hear it thru headsets.
The first Farmers’ session was chaired by Shri Parthibhai G. Bhatol while the second Farmers’ session was chaired by Shri Subhash Chandra Mandge.
An evening full of fun and laughter —‘The HasyaKaviSammelan’ — marked the culmination of first day of the Conference.
The highlight of the second day was the most thought provoking lecture on ‘Demonetization and its Impact’, by Shri Anil Bokil, Founder, ArthakrantiPratishthan during Dr. Kurien Oration Lecture.
There were 13 Technical Sessions on second and third day of the conference. Parallel Industrial presentations were also held on both days. A Job Fair attracted good response from the employers as well as job seekers.
The Plenary session brought the conference to its formal conclusion attracting dairy stakeholders in large numbers. Shri A.T. Nana Patil, Member of Parliament and owner of Dairy plant chaired the session. The recommendations of the 45th DIC were read out by Dr. Satish Kulkarni, Vice President, IDA. Whereas Shri R.S. Sodhi, Managing Director, GCMMF; Shri Rakesh Chopra, General Manager (Electronics, Vigilance), REIL and Prof. A.K. Misra, Vice Chancellor, Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University presented the demands of their respective sectors.
Dr. G.S. Rajorhia, Vice President, IDA; in hisvote of thanks applauded the team work of the organizers, IDA (WZ), in successfully organizing a Conference of this magnitude.
